Apply for Membership

 

To apply for membership in the Canadian Prison Law Association, please complete the application below.  Candidates for membership must be approved by the Executive of the CPLA. You will be contacted by email after the review of your application is completed.  If your application is approved, you will be sent an invitation to join the association with payment information and a link to pay the fees online. Membership is granted and may be terminated in accordance with the constitution.

Are you currently practicing law?

If yes, does your law practice involve representing prisoners or advocating on their behalf to protect and promote their rights, interests and privileges?

If no, are you a law teacher, student or other non-lawyer representing prisoners or advocating on their behalf to protect and promote their rights, interests and privileges?

The membership year corresponds to the calendar year.  Those joining the CPLA after September 1 in any calendar year will pay half of the annual fee for that calendar year.

At the Canadian Prison Law Association, the privacy of your personal information is of paramount importance to us.  Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) came into force on January 1, 2004.  The CPLA makes every effort to be fully compliant with PIPEDA.  We will only obtain and retain personal information as necessary for the purposes relevant to serving you and will not release, retain or use that information for other purposes.
